OMG, Paradise Kiss! I’m watching it over. A must for everyone who haven’t seen it yet. Simply the best character design imho. I’ll keep it on my harddisk (instead of putting it aside on DVD, and this is recognition, you know ;-)). Some people are saying that it’s not as good as manga… I have to get that manga! The opening titled Lonely in Gorgeous is good as well (I’ve got PV), but the ending, Do You Want To by Franz Ferdinand, is my favorite now, it’s so driving. Plus, look at that car! And one more time. It’s gorgeous (lonely in gorgeous (whatever it means)).

Українізація японських звуків
ПЕРШІ ПІДХОДИ
Японська фонетика дещо відрізняється від звичної нам індоєвропейської. Звуки формуються трохи не так як у нас (але все рівно схоже!) Наприклад, звуки групи さ-, (ざ-) формуються далі на альвеолі, ніж звуки нашої групи са-, за-, а тому звучать як щось середнє між са- і ша- — і якщо у випадку さ цей звук ближчий до «са», то у випадку し — це звук ближчий до «ші»:
さ-{сш}а, し-{сш}і, す-{сш}у, せ-{сш}е, そ-{сш}о
({сш} — єдиний звук, середній між нашим с- та ш-; запис {сш} означає, що гору в кінцевому звуці бере с-; відповідно {сш} — що гору бере ш-)
Головне тут і далі зрозуміти, що японський звук інший, неіндоєвропейський (і не є сумою індоєвропейських звуків); в даному випадку він “середній” між с- і ш- — тому виникає звучання ші-; неправильно вважати, що у 1-му випадку це са-, а у другому — ші-; адже у нас це різні букви, а значить різні корені; в японській же це однокорінна група {сш}а-, {сш}і-, {сш}у-,{сш}е-, {сш}о- — просто за різних фонетичних обставин цей звук {сш} дещо по-різному звучить! (У інших групах це стосуєтся інших таких складених звуків).
Подивимось, наприклад, далі на звуки групи は-(ば-, ぱ-). На відміну від нашої групи звуків «х-» (г, к, х), ці японські звуки по місцю формування наближуються до наших губних ф- (б, п, ф). Тому звуки цієї групи звучать як щось середнє між ха- і фа-, і якщо у випадку は ближче до «ха», то у випадку ふ — ближче до «фу» (а нашій групі г-, к- по місцю формування відповідає група が-, か-):
は-{хф}а, ひ-{хф}і, ふ-{хф}у, へ-{хф}е, ほ-{хф}о
Наступний важливий приклад маємо в групі ら-. Приголосна складова звуків цієї групи — щось середнє між нашими звуками «р» і «л». Це той недиференційований звук , який вимовляють діти, коли ще не можуть чітко промовити «р». Прийнято записувати цей звук як «р», але існують випадки, коли використовують «л» (наприклад, コラ — «кола», адже ясно, що це запозичене слово). [...]
Весняні прем’єри 2006 March 16, 2006
Починається весняний аніме-сезон 2006 року. Маємо зливу прем’єр, більше півсотні найменувань! Думаю, не проблема знайти японо- чи англомовний огляд прем’єр на інеті (зокрема, на Moonphase, на Cinnamon Ass, на Matthew’s чи на Memento), та щось українською я ще ніде не бачив…
Як звичайно, в більшості своїй все це лайно, та, знов ж таки як завжди, є в тому і щось цікаве. З десятка обраних мною для перегляду зимових шоу пробу тьюбом (трубою) витримали тільки Аякаші, Балада Шініґамі, Ханбун но цукі ґа нобору сора та Fate/Stay Night, з яких я власне дивлюсь тільки Аякаші, а за іншими слідкую по трубі (але якщо була б можливість, скачнув би і їх теж).
Отже, до весни. Після того як я пробігся по назвах і коротких описаннях, я відібрав для себе такі заслуговуючі на увагу серії.

As I know there are some people out there who haven’t heard certain known facts about Monster…
First of all, Monster manga got licensed by Viz:
Amazon.com has a December 8, 2004 release listed for “Monster : Herr Dr Tenma (Monster)” from Viz LLC. Naoki Urasawa’s Monster manga features a lead character named Dr. Tenma.
Secondly, New Line Cinema has acquired rights to film Monster! Yeah! To make live action feature film from manga.
According to a Reuters report, New Line Cinema has acquired feature film rights to “Monster,” a manga series by Naoki Urasawa. The project will be executive produced by manga publisher Shogakukan Inc.
And Josh Olson already has been chosen to write a screenplay adaptation for upcoming movie.
Josh Olson has agreed to write a screenplay adaptation of Naoki Urasawa’s Monster for New Line Cinema. Oslon, who wrote the script for New Line’s adaptation of “A History of Violence,” will also script a second Monster movie for the studio.
Boogiepop and Others Novel 1
Rightstuf has released “Boogiepop and Others” Novel 1. It consists of 264 pages at the price of $10. Read review at ANN. Essentials:
The translation and production offered by Seven Seas entertainment should set a standard against which future Japanese novel translations are judged. The translation goes to great lengths to preserve the integrity of the original work, even going as far as giving names in the traditional Japanese order and retaining most honorifics, which are explained at the beginning of the book for those less studied in Japanese culture. Ten pages of translation notes concerning topics which come up throughout the story are tacked on at the end, including an explanation of why the novel is titled “Boogiepop and Others” when “Boogiepop Doesn’t Laugh” or “Boogiepop Doesn’t Smile” would be more accurate translations. (It has to do with the manga release and live-action movie version.) Also included at the end of the novel is an afterward by Kadono, a Roll Call detailing class placements and character relationships for the main cast, and a 17-page preview of Boogiepop Returns, the next novel in the series, which is due out in June 2006. The only concern might be the price. With only a bit more than 200 pages of actual story printed with large font and ample spacing, $9.99 seems a bit high; although in line with the price of manga volumes, it’s significantly more than a paperback novel nearly twice its length would normally sell for.
